For the busy days of summer I'm going to keep this week's challenge simple!
One guideline:
A monotangle of your favourite
tangle that generates an "optical illusion".
By this I mean tangles that take on a 3 dimensional look like:
or
(it's an opportunity to practice our shading too!)
They are all very cool, now to pick one!
~ joey ~
* note: I have offered just a few tangle possibilities, you may choose any tangle pattern that gives an optical illusion look.

Carmela,
ReplyDeleteI admire you for trying all of the different versions of Maryhill. I was intimidated by this tangle so I only attempted the basic one. Great results, well done!
Hi Joey! We always have fun with these! We went more with 3D and less with optical illusion, mostly because Emi was having trouble understanding and she liked the "Star Warsy" effect of Girdy. I did play with Maryhill too though. I made the basic & the flower one "work", but they could use lots more practice!
ReplyDeleteEmilia did a great job, her drawing totally gives a 3D effect!
DeleteAnd your Aquafleur is great too. I have a lot of troubles getting mine to look like anything even with lots of shading, excellent!
Kia, this is very clever. I love how you have used paradox in a box within a box. The corner triangles totally make it pop off the page. Must try this!
ReplyDeleteColette,
ReplyDeleteI agree paradox is a tricky one. Yours look great to me, I think we're always our worst critic. Love your other challenges too!
Paradox is one of my favorite tangles; and one I use often. So this was an easy choice for me. This was the first time I've done your challenge, but I'm sure it won't be my last.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the challenge! I chose Betweed, and now that I read the description again, I'm not sure it fits, because it's not really an optical illusion, but it is 3-dimensional I think. I've only been doing this about a week, and it was fun to try a monotangle. Thanks again!
