inside my sketchbook

After a very L O N G "drawing dry spell" I actually found a few pages in my sketchbook with something on them (yah!) so just for fun,
let's have a "inside my sketchbook link up"!

One evening I grabbed my sketchbook determined to get my drawing mojo going again so that I could start on my weekly tangle challenges.
But somehow this came out of my pen rather than one of the challenges...
...oh well back to the drawing board! tee hee!

I also drew this to go along with my weekly tangle challenges which I did eventually finish.  For those that don't follow my challenges, the past 4 weeks have included a collection of music inspired challenges.  See my completed collection here.

I glue images (from Pinterest) into my sketchbook of things that I want to practice drawing.  This little guy was a good example of shading when the light source is in the top right corner.  Here is the link to this tutorial on how to shade.

To be technically correct I suppose this is "inside and around my sketchbook".
After covering a cardboard box with kraft paper I had some small scraps so never wanting to waste paper, I punch a pile of hearts.  I drew on one, any ideas on what to do with the others?

Thanks for stopping by,
join in by linking up your artwork and other challenges!

and discovered that a neighbour is selling these giant Adirondack chairs!
Too fun!

Well this is embarrassing . . . ;o)
I just took a peek in my sketch books and found nothing new for this week!
The weather has been nice so I've been doing other things.
I haven't even managed to do my own challenge this week.  tsk tsk!
This isn't good, I need my creative time!
I'll do my best to catch up on the challenge today
and over the weekend I'll post something new.
I hope you are having a more productive week!

This week started off more productive than it finished but I am happy with what I achieved!
I have wanted to try a Ben Kwok pattern for a while
and I suppose hearing the birds chirping made me choose this little guy to tangle.
It was a learning curve mixing tangles and I scoured several books and tangles online to find ones that I thought would work.
Of course you don't really know until you try them together
but for my first attempt, I'm happy with the results!

On the Easter weekend
we found ourselves curled up in front of a cozy fireplace
at my mother-in-law's so I chose this Celtic knot cut and paste in my sketchbook.
It really made me think with the over and under laps but when it finally came together it was a fun one to try!

And finally this one from my sketchbook
which I was not happy with at all.
I almost didn't include it
but then I remembered saying
that not everything in your sketchbook turns out
so here it is.
I totally botched making it
look spherical
and it's shaded way too dark
but there you go! ;oP

Now let's see what you have been sketching this week!

I had a few opportunities this week to try some new things in my sketchbook.

I gave the tangle Lap by Lizzie Mayne a go and it was very fun!

These trees were drawn in a very different style that I draw trees so I thought it would be fun to try them out. I wasn't pleased with my road, and my scale is off so I bailed before finishing the closest trees.  (remember not everything is perfect in a sketchbook! ;o)

I also tried the tangle Daisy Square by Judy RichardsVery fun!  Sorry I ran out of time to finish filling in the background of two of the squares that have Tipple.

Wishing you and your family a fun Easter weekend,
and lots of chocolate!
