Last week I participated in my first "It's a String Thing" Zentangle challenge on the lovely Adele Bruno's blog Tickled to Tangle!
With this challenge, Adele chooses a "string" (the curvy line that separates the patterns) and suggests some patterns that you can include in your drawing. It's a great way to learn more about strings and practice new patterns!
I wanted to try drawing on brown cardstock so made my challenge into a card. I used black pigment pens to draw the patterns, a white opaque marker to fill in the highlight and a white Sakura gelly roll pen for the tiny dots. The patterns are Crescent Moon, Cayke, Chillon and Cadent.
If you are interested in participating, the "It's a String Thing" challenges are posted on the Tickled to Tangle blog every Tuesday with a "gallery show" the following Monday of all the drawings submitted.
I can see myself spending many more hours exploring this new (to me) form of drawing!
