Bead heads

When I was a little girl my grandparents lived on Salt Spring Island and we would visit them often in the summer.  Salt Spring has always been known for being home to some of BC's most 'artistic characters' so there were always lots of artsy things in the little shops in the village.  That's likely where I bought this. . . er . . .

. . . bead head . . ?

And the strangest part is that I kept it all these years in a little box with my other "treasures"?!

But when I look at it I am instantly a kid again which is why I thought my kids and I should make something like it!

Now, I'll be totally honest here . . .
their first questions were "What is it?" and "What is it for?" and truthfully I wasn't able to come up with an answer, but we ended up having fun anyways! ;o)

So we got out the tin of beads . . . yum!

And then chose the basic materials
1 large bead
1 smaller bead
2 googly eyes
glue

And then played around a bit . . .

. . . and eventually ended up with these!

We still don't really know what to call them or do with them, but who knows, the kids may find them 30 years from now in a little box of their treasures?

Have a great weekend!
xoxo
