one year

 Today my blog and I complete our first journey around the sun together.

Over the past year I have learned so much, made new friends, kept a tidy record of our family's memories, set goals, met goals, dreamed a bit, chickened out a bit, and had some wonderful times here.

It's an amazing community and I'm so happy to be a part of it.

I'm not one to make a big 'ta-do' over anniversaries but I thought those of you who are new here might be interested in reading my first little timid post...

My intentions to inspire others' creativity has continued to be the main focus of this blog.  I feel very fortunate when I read your kind comments and am inspired by all of your creativity as well! 

I've never been much of a writer.

I've always expressed my ideas through drawings rather than words.  Whenever I'm trying to describe something to someone I always feel more comfortable reaching for a pen and paper and drawing it out.

I've never been much of an instructor.

I'm more comfortable "teaching by example".  Which is why I don't do many tutorials on actually how to make something.  I would rather just show you photos of things that I've made or done and trust that if you want to know specifics about how I did something, then you'll ask.  "Let the student lead."

 

 As I look ahead and plan for the next year I'm feeling more confident and ready to challenge myself a bit more.  I'm now starting to branch out a bit more from this blog and share my creativity on other blogs that I find inspiration.  You may have noticed a few links on the sidebar already and will hopefully see more in the future! 

I feel extremely honoured that so many people continue to visit me here in this space.  I hope the coming year allows me to become an even bigger source of inspiration to you all!
