This challenge started off like most other challenges, I chose a String (#153) that I figured would work well with Striping, grabbed my 01 pen and began.
I was Zenning Out when all of a sudden I made a mistake. . . I know, I know there are no "mistakes" in Zentangle, but to make stripes you can't colour in two strips beside one another, hmmmn, now what to do?
It was actually kind of funny when it happened, I was thinking about nothing and then an outside thought popped into my head and Bang! it caused my train of thought to wonder and I goofed. I know I must have been totally in the moment because I actually laughed out loud the second after it happened, instead of cursing in my head that I had made an error.
So to fix said error I just repeated the error on the entire tile, shaded it a bit, held it up and decided it's just too big of a mistake to hide! I have other projects that I have to move on to so I'm leaving it and submitting my "overstriped" Striping challenge. It's a little reminder to myself that sometimes things don't always work out as planned!
Have a great week!

Oh dear we are both in the same boat, but you made a better attempt at covering it up. I just left it. If you look right in the centre of mine, on the left hand side I miscalculated and started to block in the wrong stripe.
ReplyDeleteOMG this is so easy to do. I love your solution--I think it really works! Love the tile and the way the sections bulge, just as they should.
ReplyDeleteI think he tile is just fine the way it is.
ReplyDeleteYou are inspirational!!!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant !
ReplyDeletebut you did rescue that VERY well. The darker "glints" just add magnificent depth. You pulled it back around very nicely.
ReplyDeleteGreat save!
ReplyDeleteI agree with HeidiSue! There's a lot of depth and intensity! No mistakes in Zentangle! (I have also found myself "zenning along" only to have that BAM! moment where my mind jumps to some place not here and some time not now! Usually I'm getting ahead of myself: "What am I going to put in the next section? How would this tangle look? How can I shade this?" Here and Now!)
ReplyDeleteYour invented a new way to embellish striping! Well done.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this lovely story and therefore this great tile!
