This week A and B spent their mornings at an Art Camp with a bunch of their friends. It was set up on the shady patio of a seasonal Art Gallery/Shop located right next to the ocean. The instructor was wonderful with the kids, inspiring (even the boys!) to create 2 projects per day using techniques that they may not have experimented with before.
Here is what they made:
Monday - dry stenciled gift bags and canvas bookmarks
Tuesday - wire and bead wrapped cutlery and wire wrapped stone necklaces
Wednesday - wire bead suncatchers and wire marble spirals
Thursday - collage framed art and collage vases/pencil cups
After a fun week of creativity, I think that it's time that we switch gears and move into a bit of Math review. It's the only subject that we haven't really touched on this summer. We have been finding hands-on Science learning all around us these days. They are involved in a summer reading program at the public library and I have also discovered a really fun way for them to keep up their writing skills....
I will share that with you on Monday. Lots of creative learning going on around here!
