We recently took a day trip to my cousin's summer cottage on Piers Island. Isn't it cute?! It's been in her husband's family since he was young and they have decided to preserve as much of the character as possible......it's very retro!
To get to Piers Island you must have a boat, there is no bridge or ferry service and there are no roads on the island! People get around by foot (using wheelbarrows to carry goods to and from the boat dock) or some have golf carts. It's like taking a step back in time!
It provided lots of opportunity for the kids to explore the beach...
....admire cool rock formations....
...paint some rocks and shells...
...enjoy the view...
